Many CAS members are very active in the craft of telescope making and will generously provide advice to beginners. Even if you only have a passing interest in this phase of the hobby, you will probably find some of the club's creations fascinating.

In the basement at Perkins Observatory, directly under the classroom, is the workshop of the telescopes.

This is the mirror grinding lab where you can escape the daily grind to grind your own mirror from a glass blank. Optical testing equipment is available to make sure you get the best results. Join the ATM SIG to get involved!
